Top Wedding Flower Trends for 2026 NZ are shaping up to be bold, sculptural, chic and just a little bit extra, and I am here for it. Couples are leaning into statement blooms, modern silhouettes and thoughtful venue choices that completely transform the wedding experience.
Hereâs what Iâm seeing (and loving) for 2026.
Top Wedding Flower Trends for 2026 NZ: White Calla Lilies
White calla lilies are having a serious fashion moment.
Theyâre sleek. Theyâre sculptural. Theyâre effortlessly chic. Nothing says modern bridal quite like a bouquet of pure white callas tied with silk ribbon. Very editorial. Very âI know exactly what Iâm doing.â
Now for the florist reality check – white callas are not commercially grown in NZ at the moment. Yes, we have a little cry about it. Growers, if youâre reading this⊠please get your crop on.
The good news? They are imported, so they are absolutely still available. The catch is theyâre sold in bunches of 10 stems and must be ordered well in advance. That means we canât just grab a couple last minute – they need planning, commitment and a bit of lead time.
But when done right? So worth it.
Green Hanging Amaranthus
Those fuzzy boys that look like theyâre straight out of a Dr Seuss book – green hanging amaranthus is everywhere right now.
It drapes. It cascades. It adds movement and drama to installations and bouquets. When used in hanging installations or trailing from arches, it creates this whimsical, slightly theatrical effect that couples are loving.
HOWEVER! Don’t skip this part…
They are highly allergenic. Like, super common to be allergic to. I am wildly allergic to them personally – full itchy rash from a slight brush of them. Long sleeves and gloves required, the things we do for love.
If youâre considering carrying amaranthus down the aisle in your bouquet, please do a little allergy test beforehand. Most people donât realise until itâs too late, and nobody wants an itchy, puffy-eyed bride.
Used thoughtfully (and safely), they are absolute magic.

Anthuriums
Anthuriums are popping out of arrangements like theyâre reaching for the sky and honestly? I love the confidence.
Chocolate brown and green are the most popular colours right now, giving that modern, slightly moody, fashion-forward vibe. They pair beautifully with orchids, callas and structured white bouquets.
Now, the supply situation. Once upon a time NZ had a thriving anthurium industry. Those growers have packed up, unfortunately. There are a few new growers emerging with small crops, but theyâre mostly red varieties at this stage.
For now, anthuriums are imported. They must be ordered well in advance and are sold in boxes of 12 stems. So just like callas, we canât offer âjust a coupleâ unless weâre building it into a larger design. Itâs something to factor into your planning and budget.
Give it time though. I have faith NZ will be in full flush again one day.
Phalaenopsis Orchids
Phalaenopsis orchids scream WEDDING.
They are elegant. Glamorous. Dramatic. Chic beyond words. In my humble opinion, nothing looks more luxurious than a cascading phalaenopsis bouquet.
But letâs talk reality. These beauties come at a cost. Make sure youâre sitting down when you ask for a quote for a phalaenopsis bouquet.
Theyâre sold in boxes of 10 stems. If you only want one or two stems in your bouquet, we usually buy the plant and cut the stem from it instead. Yes, you pay a premium, but at least youâre not purchasing an entire box. And at least your bestie shows up in your bouquet on your big day. Sheâs worth it.

Hydrangeas
Holy heck. I think I should be crowned the queen of hydrangeas for the amount of hydrangeas that have passed through my hands.
White and antiqued green are leading the charge for 2026. Theyâre lush, abundant and perfect for large-scale installations and cascading bouquets. Have you seen our cascading hydrangea pieces in our portfolio? They turn heads. Every time.
Hydrangeas bring volume without heaviness and photograph beautifully. And honestly? I am so down for a bride who wants pink hydrangea. Letâs do it. Letâs lean in. More colour, more personality, more joy.

Whoever normalised Airbnb weddings is a genius.
Book a stunning property with accommodation for your party. Big lawns. Beautiful views. Space for a marquee. Ceremony and reception all in one location. Incredible.
Yes, itâs not cheap. But when you compare it to hiring a large vineyard for a single day, it can actually stack up, especially when couples book for four days. You move in, settle, celebrate, recover and pack down slowly without the rush or stress.
It feels intimate. Relaxed. Intentional. And honestly, perfect.
